E. EDER & CO acts for one-man inventors, small companies and large PLC's, and the services rendered are split roughly equally between patents and trade marks. However, the firm provides a wide range of experience in all kinds of intellectual property, both in the UK and abroad.

Of particular significance is the experience gained by the firm of the community Trade Marks registration system, whereby a single registration can be obtained for all the EU countries. The firm actively cooperates with clients and acts on their behalf in the filing and prosecution of such CTM registration applications, as well as national trade mark registration applications for the UK and other countries, and unitary International
registration applications under the Madrid Protocol. It is noteworthy that these International TM registration applications can now include the USA.

Searches for potential trade mark conflicts are conducted in-house using records obtained from the EU Trade Marks Office, the UK Trade Marks Registry and the US Patent & Trademarks Office. Watch services are also available to clients.

Likewise the firm acts in the preparation, filing and prosecution of patent and design applications worldwide — including for the new Community Registered Design (which can cover multiple designs in the one application for the whole of the EU), and is well-placed to advise on infringement matters.
